Mobile Privacy & Do-Not-Track Legislation

The Senate is set to hold a hearing on Mobile Privacy in the coming days. The biggest issue trying to be overcome is the do-not-track legislation and how it relates to mobile devices. There was a recent study that found 22 of the top paid apps lack privacy policies altogether. For the other 8, that means that there was a privacy policy found, but a majority weren’t mobile-friendly whatsoever. Mobile policies are extremely complicated and if they relay the information found of the standard computer privacy policy, then mobile users are probably sifting through many pages just to find out about how their information will be used.

Basically, mobile apps are pulling information from the device that have no bearing on to the app itself and this does need to be regulated- So power to the senate for taking a vote on this.
